Aims & Objectives

The programme is designed to strengthen the confidence, wellbeing and capability of unpaid carers across South West London (SWL) and North West London (NWL). Its objectives include:

  • Increasing carer confidence in supporting relatives at home with improved self‑management and prevention skills

  • Promoting carers' wellbeing, developing confidence and competence in their caring role

  • Strengthening relationships with local Carer Centres, improving signposting into the SWL & NWL Health & Social Care provision

  • Reducing avoidable ambulance call‑outs and hospital admissions (e.g. medication errors, infections, falls, carer stress/relationship breakdown)

  • Increasing awareness, engagement and membership of Carer Centres

  • Expanding support networks and community connections to reduce isolation

  • Supporting carers to develop skills that can facilitate access to paid employment

  • Reaching carers who are not yet connected to support
