Communication & Interaction Training (CAIT)

The CAIT programme is designed to support those caring for people living with dementia. The training, led by a clinician is targeted at care homes across SWL and focuses on communication insights and techniques and how to manage/reduce challenging behaviour.

The programme contains two sessions: Communication and Behaviour that Challenges.

The sessions aim to:

• Increase staff confidence to provide skilled dementia care

• Enhance understanding of effective communication

• Develop communication and management skills

• Teach de-escalation techniques

• Strengthen skills to reduce Behaviours that Challenge
